There have been some recent changes at Fletcher’s Fields. The previous board structure was dissolved and is now made up of the shareholders of Fletcher’s, (Scottish, Barbarians, Nomads, Saracens, Markham Irish, and Rugby Ontario), plus a CEO and a Treasurer.
Why was this done? Simply so that we, the shareholders, can have more direct control over our biggest financial asset. We had our first meeting a couple of weeks ago, and it was very productive. This new board structure is bringing the shareholders closer together, getting us communicating directly with each other, and will make us a stronger unit in the long run.
I’m pleased to announce that I have been appointed as the new Secretary of the Fletcher’s board, and I’m looking forward to this opportunity to be more actively involved in making changes at Fletcher’s. Here is the new Fletcher’s board:
Chairman: Steve Hall (President of the Barbarians)
Vice Chairman: David Butler (Chairman of Rugby Ontario)
Secretary: Cathy Caldarola (President of the Scottish)
Treasurer: Damion Ketchum
Chief Executive Officer: Al Donaldson
Neither Al nor Damion are members of any of the shareholder clubs. Al is a rugby enthusiast and has served on many boards over the years. He has been on the Boating Ontario board for the past 17 years and is stepping down from his position there so that he can dedicate his full attention on Fletcher’s Fields. Damion is a VP of Finance for his “real” job, is a former rugby player, and has served on other boards as Treasurer.
