Let’s just say, the Toronto Scottish don’t go about things in boring fashions. With character and dramatic flare, both teams managed late comeback wins to push themselves into their respective Cup Finals. Don’t get us wrong – we knew we had the wins all along, but making things a little interesting once in a while never hurts. The 2s will look to repeat their Gee Gage Cup win from last year, while the 1s will make their first McCormick Cup Finals appearance since 1977.
Scott Wilson’s (AKA Scotia AKA Golden Bear) Game-Winning Try for the 2s:
Dave O’Dwyer (AKA ODWYER RULES) Game-Winning Try followed by “Kiwi Dan” Gordon’s drop goal for the 1s:
As if these victories weren’t enough, the women also won the Bowl Finals in their 7s tourney. Just picking up where they left off!
About 8 minutes into the 2’s semi-final, Mike “Spender” Alexander unfortunately broke his leg in three places and had to have surgery to get plates, pins, and screws. We’re pretty sure it was just because he made the Crusaders’ D look so bad his leg felt it should compensate, but we can’t say for sure. He is out of surgery and many are welcome to visit him at home. Way to set the bar Spender!
