It was a win on the day, but it did not feel like a win after the tremendous start in the opening half.
The first 40 minutes were played at a real fast tempo and the Nomads were unable to sustain the pace that we set. There was not much to adjust in the first half as we controlled the possession and territory for most of the half, but the wheels fell off in the second, where we lost our edge and began to make unforced errors.
The Nomads began to take advantage of our knock ons, penalties and turnovers, which hemmed us inside our own half for much of the 2nd. On the day, we turned over the ball 35 times which made our work difficult to close out the game in which we dominated, quickly. Majority of the turnovers occurred in the 2nd half, which left a bitter after taste as the final whistle blew.
Overall we’ll take the win, but the onus is on us to regroup and have a look at the video and really dissect our game before we meet Peterborough in 2 weeks time.
