The first half was fairly evenly contested, with both teams scoring two tries and one conversion. When Scottish had ball in hand, they were hard to stop. The forwards worked well off the backs with great hard lines being run, resulting in the Nomads defensive line being broken multiple times. On the more critical side, not enough fight at the breakdowns cost us in the first half. This led for Jordynn having trouble getting the ball and sometimes cost us possession. The Nomads also had a very dominant scrum, causing the Scottish to get pushed back and concede a few penalties – something to work on in the coming week in preparation for the Saracens.
The Scottish were able to come back hard in the second half. The defence and intensity had definitely amped up! The Nomads scored about halfway through the second half but the Scottish worked harder to defend their try line; they made some great tackles, spread out and marked up, and were ultimately able to hold them off. Despite receiving a yellow card due to scrummaging issues and having to play down a (wo)man, the Scottish punched in one last try to end the game with a final score of 22-17.
